ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE!

Youth Safety Awareness Initiative, popularly known by its brand name, CRIME SI POA® (Crime is not cool) is a registered  non-governmental organization started on the death row of a maximum security prison in Kenya with the aim of bringing people together to champion justice and peace, reduce crime, anti-social behavior and other activities that threaten peaceful co-existence of different communities so as to make the world better.

Our goal is to mobilize citizen responsibility and participation in making Kenya safer by focusing on, and discouraging at-risk and vulnerable youth and the public from engaging in criminal activities, supporting  penal reforms so as to ease re-entry of ex-inmates and so reduce recidivism, empowering the youth and communities with knowledge of their legal rights and obligations and using social enterprise to support youth development . We believe there is no challenge that is insurmountable when we bring people together to champion pertinent causes.

To achieve our goals, we work with like minded partners, players in both the criminal justice system as well as in the civil society, mentors, changemakers, volunteers and inspirational leaders. CRIME SI POA® is evolving into a powerful social justice movement impacting communities for a better world.

All donations received go directly to initiatives we run or support.

VISION:

Empowered communities upholding the rule of the law and using social enterprise to build inclusivity, cohesion and equity for all.

OUR MOTTO:

It’s about You!

MISSION:

To work with individuals, community groups and criminal justice sector players to create environments where everyone can lead their lives free from the incidence or fear of crime in Kenya.
